The Australian edition of the International Champions soccer tournament will feature three teams from three European countries playing three matches on July 18, 21 and 24th at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Three Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will be playing in Australia, Real Madrid from La Liga, Roma from Serie A and Manchester City from the Premier League. They will play a round robin tournament.
There will be three parallel tournaments running on three continents this summer, North America, Asia(China) and Australia. This is due to the high popularity of the US tournament the past two years. This allows the best teams on the European circuit to play high quality soccer during their pre-season warm up weeks and at the same time bring their sport to people around the world.
Real Madrid will also compete in China along with A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale Milanoin a round robin tournament.
The United States participants will be: Club America,Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, ACF Fiorentina, FC Porto, Los Angeles Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, and San Jose Earthquakes
